and Under-Graduates constitute the
same, and not the Trustees, who act
merely in trust for the Presbyterians in
Canada in Connection with the Church of
Scotland to attend to certain interests of
said College and University in behalf of
said Presbyterians.

3rd Because the address in question does
not represent the views of the Senatus, but
simply those of the Trustees.

4th Because as is allowed by all the
Professors, were the Principal here, the
duty of presenting said address would devolve
on said Principal, and to say that
in his absence, that duty must fall to one
not a Professor, with no Academic degree
and who must, therefore appear in non-Academic
robes is a lowering of the Institution
and its Professors.

5th Because this is an insult to the taste
in learning of the Professors, that an
Academic Address prepared and unanimously
approved of by them, should be
changed by the Trustees.

6th Because the address in question
beginning "We the Trustees and Professors
etc., is not true, in point of fact, there
being no regular legal meeting of the
Trustee-Board—but simply of a few Trustees
living in Kingston.

It was agreed that the Professors, who met
here to-day, desire an interview with the
Trustees at an early day to make definite
and final arrangements, as to the presentation
