This day the Senate met & was constituted. Present Professor Williamson in the chair, Professors Mowat, Hor. Yates,
Fowler, Lavell, Kennedy, Litchfield, Bell & Murray

The minutes of the previous meeting having been read &
sustained, the Chairman proceeded in name of the Senate
& by authority of the Royal Charter of this University, to
laureate the gentlemen on whom it had been agreed at the
previous meeting to confer the Degree of Bachelor in Arts.

The meeting was closed with the benediction.

This day the Senate met & was constituted. Present
the Principal in the chair, Professors Mowat, Bell, H. Yates,
Fowler, Kennedy & Murray.

Induction
of Professors
Bell & Maclean
[/margin]

The minutes of the previous meeting having been
read & sustained, an extract from the Minutes of the
Medical Faculty was laid on the table by their Secretary
recommending that the Convocation should meet on
Tuesday, 10th Jan 1865 for the Induction of Professor
Bell to the chair of Natural History, Chemistry &
Practical Chemistry & of Professor Maclean to the
chair of Institutes of Medicine. The Senate agreed
to adopt the Recommendation of the Medical Faculty
& to request the Principal to draw up a programme
suitable for the occasion.

The Principal reported that he had received an
application from the Rev. George Weir for certain extracts.
