Caramel Nut Cake.

Two cups granulated sugar,
one cup cream, one
cup walnuts chopped
fine. Butter size of an
egg. Let boil about five
minutes - Spread this
quite thick on a layer
cake. [(That is the butter
sugar and milk are put
on to brown and creamed -
not the pure cream as is
understood above)]

Spiced Meat -

Take a good piece of beef
wash - salt and pepper
place in bowl cover with
vinegar, a good sized onion
spices and bay leaves, after
leaving it in this way for
2 or 3 days, boil with all of
this until tender - while
boiling add water -
