Poppy Seed Cake

Take two whole eggs, 1 cup
sugar, 1/4 lb. butter, 1 cup
milk, 1/4 cake yeast (dissolve
in a little warm water -then
stir into the other ingredients)
Add a pint (2 cups) of warm water
stir in enough flour to be
able to knead. Let this
stand over night.
Early in the A.M. Knead it
[?] once. (Add flour if
necessary) let it rise again.
Take poppy seed (1/2 lb) and
scald and pound 1/4 lb
almonds (blanch and chop)
1/4 lb citron 1/4 lb raisens also
chop these. 1 cup sugar -
a little cardemon seed-
Roll out a little of the dough into
