Fruit Cake.

1 lb best butter
1 1/2 lb brown sugar
2 teas grated nutmeg
2 " " cinamon
2 " " all spice
" " " cloves
1/2 glass brandy, 1/2 cup milk
1 teas. Bkg. powder.
2 lbs currents
2 " seeded raisins
1 " citron
1 dz. eggs, flour enough to [suit?] (7 cups)
Beat butter and sugar to
cream, add spices, brandy
milk and gradually the
yolks of the eggs, then add the
fruit, then flour, mixed
with the baking powder
and last the whites of the
eggs by degrees. (Wash currents
then dry) Bake 3 hours.
