Good Cake.

1 cup butter, 2 cups sugar,
1 cup sweet milk, 4 cups
flour, 6 eggs, 3 teas. Bkg. pdr.

Creole Kisses

Whites of 6 eggs add 1 lb. Conf.
sugar Beat as stiff as the
whites can be beaten, without
sugar. Add 1 teas. vanilla,
and 1 lb broken pecan Kernels
(weighed before shelling) Bake
in moderate oven for buttered
paper. Drop on paper in
teaspoonfulls

Hickory Nut Cake.

1 lb. powdered sugar, 1/4 lb butter
yolks of 4 eggs. When light
add 1 cup sour milk in
which is diss. 1 teas. soda. 1 lb.
flour mix in teas. salt.
Add 1 pt. chopped hickory nuts
and the whites of the eggs.
