Sponge Cake
1 1/4 cup gr: sugar 1/2 cup water
1 cup of flour sifted 5 times
6 big eggs or 7 small ones
Boil sugar & water to
a syrup as for frosting
in meantime beat the
yolks of eggs till thick
pour syrup into yolks
slowly beating all a while
add a teasponn lemon
extract, beat whites of
the 6 eggs to stiff froth
add a small teaspoon of
cram of tartar fold together
in flour.
