Arcadian Pie

-Radio Recipe - Mary Ellis Ames, 6/14/'35

9 in. pie
Serves 6
Peel 6 med. apples
Cut into quarters (24 sections)
Mix together
1 C sugar
3/4 C canned unsweetened
pineapple juice
Cook until sugar melts
Put in apples for 5 min.
Remove apples and cool.
Mix together 2 T cornstarch
1/4 C pineapple juice
Bring syrup to boil
Stir in cornstarch
Mix until clear
Stir in 1 T butter
1/8 tsp salt
1/2 " vanilla
Cool
Arrange apples flower like in
crust and pour into
unbaked pie shell - cover
with criss cross pastry top.
Bake 10 min at 450 - 25 min at 350
