Friday, March 26th Pleasant. Poor Cornelius bled all day.
We began to feel quite anxious about him, and even
the doctor seems scarcely to know what to do.
He suffers much from weakness and exhaustion but is
very patient. we had prayer meeting at our house
this evening.
Saturday. Raining. Cornelius was able to swallow something this
morning for the the first time since Thursday evening.

Sunday. Very fine day. Attended our church twice during the day
Father preached all day from
Joseph Wilde accompanied me home in the morning and
Henry Hudson in the afternoon. H- called in this evening
and accompanied me to Mr Beecher's church. After
returning he came in and remained during prayers.
I spoke to him again about religion but I fear for him.

Monday. Very unpleasant. Cornelius had another fit of bleeding.
Uncle came over from New York with father to see him
and took tea with us. One or two gentlemen called in
to see Father in the evning.

Tuesday. Quite unpleasant. Henry H- called
in this afternoon and while he was here Lydia Holbrook
came in. He soon after left and Lydia then told me that
she had come to visit Carrie to be her bridesmaid and that
she and her sister are to be married next Thursday week.
Harriet declined the honour in Carrie's name for several reasons.
