Monday, Aug. 27th, 1838.

Commences with light breezes from the southward
steering by the wind to the S. & W. at 4 P. M. the
wind hauled to the west Tacked ship steering
S. S. E. middle Hours squally Latter the wind
veering to the S W. with light squalls of wind
& Rain Hands employed in making scrubs
and dressing Iron Poles.

So ends

Tuesday, Aug. 28th, 1838.

All of these 24 Hours fresh breezes and squally
wind S. S. W. steering by the wind to the S. & E.
at 9 A. M. passed 2 sail steering to the N. & E

Wednesday Aug. 29th, 1838.

Commences with fresh breezes from the S S W and
squally steering by the wind to the S. & E.
Middle & Latter Hours light and pleasant
this Day sent down the Fore Truss got a Heat
upon it at the Forge set it out and put
it up again likewise set up the Fore Rigging
& Top mast Back stays and fitted a new
main & mizen Top sail with [Points?] &. &. ready
for bending likewise caulked the Planks here
Seam Fore & Aft.

So ends.
