Wednesday Nov. 14th 1883.

Commences with fresh gales from the N. E. lying
too Heading N. N. W. at 4 A. M. finishing Boiling
at 5 Do. the wind hauling to the north and
increasing wore ship to the Eastward and
set took in the Fore Sail and let the spancers
at 9 A. M. passed a ship we called the Condor
of New Bedford. Middle & Latter Hours strong
gales wore ship to the west and took in sail.
Saw 1 Fin back but no Right whales water green

So ends.

Latitude Obs. 35" 32 South Longitude per. watch 23" 09 west

Thursday Nov. 15th 1838.

Commences with strong gales lying too heading
to the southward at 4 A. M. the wind veering
to the west Tacked ship to the north.

Middle Hours more moderate set the Top
Sails double Reefed spoke ship William Baker
of Warren Sanford master 170 bbls. of sperm
Latter Hours more moderate the wind veering
to the South. at 2 P. M. saw 2 Right whales
but started them with the Ship at 7 P. M. took
in sail Heading S E. water green.

So ends.

Friday Nov. 16th 1838.

Commences with strong breezes from the west
and cloudy. at 5 A. M. made sail steering
by the wind to the northward untill 8 A. M. wore
ship to the southward.

Middle & Latter Hours more moderate at 2 P. M.
spoke ship Meteor of Groton Lester master 4 whales
Barques Alexander Mansfield 2 whales Douglass
Richards of Salem master 2 whales.

this Day stowed down 60 bbls of Oil in the main
Hatch starboard Sid. aft at 7 P.M. took in sail
Heading S. S. W. so ends.
