Commences with moderate breezes from the
W. N. W. and cloudy at 4 A. M. made sail steering
by the wind to the S W.

Middle & Latter Hours clear saw several
Fin Backs but no other at 4 P. M. saw a ship
to the NW. at 7 Do. took in sail Heading
W. S. W. So ends Boiling.

Latitude Obs. 35" 44. South. Longitude per watch 23" 09 W

Wednesday Nov. 21th 1838.

All of these 24 Hours fresh breezes from the
northward and squally at 4 A. M. made sail
steering by the wind to the west. at 6 Do. the wind
veering to the west ship off to the South. at 8 Do.
saw 1 Right whale chaised but without success
Saw a ship to the west of us whaling.

at meridian finished Boiling.

at 7 P. M. took in sail heading NW. by N. 7 ships
in sight.

So ends.

Latitude Obs. 36" 48 South. Longitude per. watch 23" 14 west.
