Commences with moderate breezes from the
northward and squally with light Rain
at 5 A. M. made sail steering by the wind
to the Eastward untill Do. Tacked to the west
at 8 Do. Saw 3 Right whales lowered struck
and killed 1 took him alongside and cut him
in middle & Latter Hours calm 5 ships in sight
2 of them Boiling. So ends Boiling

Latitude Obs. 36" 20. South. Longitude per. watch 25" 34. west

Saturday Nov. 25th 1838.

Commences with fresh breezes from the north
at 5 A. M. made sail steering by the wind to the
Eastward. at Do. saw 1 Right whale feeding
lowered struck and killed took him alongside
and cut him in at 1 P. M. finished made
sail steering by the wind to the west.

at 3 Do. Tacked ship to the Eastward

at 7 Do. took in sail Heading NE by E.

3 ships in sight but 1 Boiling

So ends Boiling

Sunday Nov. 26th 1838.

Commences with fresh breezes from the north
and cloudy at 5 A. M. made sail steering by
the wind to the west. at 6 Do. the wind shifted
sudden to the south and pleasant steering to
the west. Middle & Latter Hours light airs
and calm. Saw many Fin Backs but no Right
whales 5 ships in sight Boiling.

this Day stowed down 6 Hogsheads of sperm
3 of Head. 3 Do. of Body likewise 70 bbls. of whale
Oil in the Fore Hatch Larboard side aft.

So ends Boiling.
