calm. Caulker employed in onhanging the windlass
and caulking the Deck Hands repairing sails and
braiding Senit. at 4 P. M. unbent the Top Sails and
bent others.

So ends.

Latitude by acc. 31" 17. South. Longitude by acc. 30" 20. west.

Thursday, Jan. 24th, 1838.

All of these 24 Hours calm and clear with a large
swell from the Southward.

Hands employed in various jobs of Ships Duty.

Friday, Jan. 25th, 1838.

Com___ces calm at 4 A. M. moderate breezes from the sw.
Steering W. N. W. at 8 Do. the wind veering to E. N. E.
and pleasant Set the Steering Sails. Saw 2 Sail
steering to the north.
