All of these 24 Hours strong breezes from the
Eastward and a large swell.

Hands employed in turning up the main Rigging
Starboard Side.

Friday, March 8th, 1839.

Commences with fresh Gales from the Eastward
and Squally steering by the wind to the S. & E.

middle & Latter Hours the wind veered to the
north. Steered S E. by E.

Hands employed in setting up the Fore Rigging.

So ends.

Latitude Obs. 29" 03 South. Longitude per. watch 42" 15 west.

Saturday, March 9th, 1839.

Commences with strong breezes from the north.
steering S E. by E. at 4 P. M. the wind veered round
to west from that to SW. and South attended with
Squalls of wind & Rain.

Middle & Latter Hours more moderate and clear
steered E. S. E.

So ends.
