Sent up main Top Gallant & yard and bent the
Sail.

Saturday May 4th, 1839.

Thought these 24 Hours fresh breezes from the NW
and fair weather Steering E. S. E.

Carpenter employed in making a new cap to Fore
Fore Top mast Head.

Sunday, May 5th 1839.

Commences with fresh breezes from the NW and
clear steering E. S. E.

middle & Latter Hours fresh gales the wind veering
to the north took in the Steering Sails.

Monday May 6th, 1839.

Commences with fresh gales from the north and
cloudy Steering E by S. Middle Hours more moderate
Latter Hours strong Gales from the South hauled
too by the wind had the Bow Boat filled by a
large Sea and Broke into looseing Boat & Craft
with oars. So ends
