Throught these 24 Hours light airs and calm.
Sent 2 Boats but saw nothing but Fin backs
before the Boats returned they went on Shore
to lookout and 3 men deserted.

So ends.

Tuesday, June 4th, 1839.

Commences calm middle & Latter Hours light breezes
from the North.

sent out 2 Boats but saw nothing but Fin Backs
the Carpenter employed in making new Bees
to the Bow Sprit for Top mast Stays.

So ends.

Wednesday, June 5th, 1839.

All of these 24 Hours light breezes from the North
and fair weather sent off 3 Boats but saw
nothing but Fin Backs.

So ends.

Thursday, June 6th, 1839.

Throught these 24 Hours light airs from the North
and pleasant sent off 2 Boats but saw nothing
Hands employed in setting up the Rigging.

So ends.

Friday, June 7th, 1839.

All of these 24 Hours Calm with fine weather and
no Fish lazy times Sent 2 Boats out but saw nothing

So ends.

Saturday, June 8th, 1839.

Commences with light airs from the North and clear
at 9 A. M. the wind hauled to the SW. weighed our
anchors and went to Seat in company with the Barque
Favorite of Fair Haven ran to the north untill 6 P. M. then
lay off throught the night. So ends.
