N. & E. middle Hours the wind veered to the South
Latter Hours made all Sail steering North.

Monday July 15th, 1839.

Commences with strong gales from the SE. Steering North
untill 7 P. M. hauled by the wind to the S. & W.
middle Hours more moderate Latter Hours Calm with
a large swell from the SE

Carpenter employed in making a Main Spencer Gaft.

So ends.

Tuesday July 16th, 1839.

Commences with variable winds and Squally
middle & Latter Hours moderate breezes from the west
Steering by the wind to the South.

Commences with moderate breezes from the west and
clear steering by the wind to the South

Thursday July 18th, 1839.

Commences with moderate breezes from the west
and clear steering by the wind to the South at 8 P. M.
passed Cape East at 9 Do. lay off & on through the Night
at Daylight braced forward Heading in for the Land
middle & Latter Hours cloudy at 10 A. M. a Boat came
from the Shore haveing two white men who I supposed
to Convicts and 5 Natives for to trade but they wanting
an enormous price for there Potatoes and Hogs did
make a bargain. So ends.
