Latitude Obs. 33" 30. South. Longitude per watch 175" 11 East.

Sunday, July 29th, 1839.

Commences with fresh breezes from the Eastward
and cloudy Steering by the wind to the Southward
middle Hours made the Land off Wangaroo Bay
by calculation 15 miles Dist.

Latter Hours light breezes and clear the wind
veering to S. S. E. tacked Ship to the NE.

Carpenters employed in making a new mizen Top gallant
mast. So ends.

Latitude Obs. 34" 32. South. Longitude per watch 174" 57 East.

Monday July 30th, 1839.

All of these 24 Hours light breezes from the ESE. Steering
by the wind to the Southward at 5 A. M. made
Cape Bren bearing South 20 miles Dist. at 9 Do. bent
the Cables got the anchors of the Bows at 10 Do.
run in for the Bay of Islands.

So ends.

Tuesday July 31th, 1839.

All of these 24 Hours pleasant breezes from the
SE running up the Bay at 2 P. M. passed Haradia
heading passed farther up the River and came
to in 7 fathom water muddy Bottom the mission
village bearing 10 by N. Consuls House SE. by E.
