Sunday, Sept. 15th, 1839.

First part fresh gales from the Eastward made Sail
Steering by the wind to the Southward

Middle & Latter Hours Strong gales the wind bearing
to SE. took in Sail Heading to the Eastward.

Saw 1 Ship to the North. So ends water green no Fowl or
Birds.

Latitude Obs. 31" 54 South. Longitude per watch 174" 53. west.

Monday, Sept. 16th, 1839.

First part strong gales from SE. lying too Heading
to the N. & E. Middle & Latter Hours more moderate,
the wind beering to the Eastward tacked Ship to
the Southward and set the Top Sails double Reefed
carrying Sail through the Night.

Water green few Fowl no Birds nor whales.

So ends.

Latitude Obs. 31" 51 South. Longitude per watch 175" 09. west.

Tuesday, Sept. 17th, 1839.

All of these 24 Hours strong breezes from the
Eastward Steering by the wind to the Southward.
few Fowls & Birds water green but no whales.

at 6 P. M. Set the Top Sails double Reefed carrying Sail to the Southw

So ends.

Latitude Obs. 33" 29 South. Longitude per watch 174" 09. west.

Wednesday, Sept. 18th, 1839.

All of these 24 Hours Strong breezes from the Eastward
Steering by the wind to the Southward untill
6 P. M. tacked Ship to the Northward having been
far enoughf the water Blue & Barren with the
exception of a few whale Birds Black Haghts & Gonies
which are to be found in all high Latitudes.

at 7 P. M. Set the Top Sails double Reefed carrying Sail
through the Night to the North.

So ends.
