Ship Falcon of New Bedford Russel master 2 Right
whales. at 11 Do. Saw 4 ships Steering to the South
Saw a few Fowls no Birds water Blue.
at 7 P. M. double Reefed the Top Sails carrying Sail to the
North So ends.
Latitude Obs. 34" 46 South. Longitude per watch 175" 57. west
Friday, Sept. 20th, 1839.
First part fresh gales from the Eastward
Steering by the wind to the N. & W
middle & Latter Hours the wind veered to NE
tacked Ship to the S. & E. Saw a Ship steering
to the S. & E. at 7 P. M. set the Top Sails double Reefed
endeavouring to get to the Eastward.
Saw nothing this Day water green.
So ends.

Saturday, Sept. 21th, 1839.
First part fresh gales from the Eastward steering
by the wind to S. & E. untill 4 A. M. the wind veering
Southerly tacked Ship to the North passed a
Ship Steering to the South.
Middle & Latter Hours more moderate and
Squally set the Top gallant Sails carrying sail
through the Night. Saw nothing this Day water
green. So ends.

Sunday, Sept. 22th, 1839.
First part moderate breezes from the E. S. E. Steering
by the wind to the N. & E. untill 8 A. M. the wind
veering to N. N. E. tacked Ship to the Eastward.
middle Hours strong breezes spoke ship Thomas Williams
of Stonington Hall master 1500 blls at 4 A. M. Saw 3 ships from the
Eastward tacked Ship to the NW. Saw nothing water green
Latitude Obs. 32" 04 South. Longitude per watch 176" 21. west.
