All of these 24 Hours fresh breezes from S. S. W.
and clear steering E. by N. at 7 A. M. Sunday
Island bore SW. by W. 45 miles Dist.

at 7 P. M. Steered by the wind to the E. S. E. through
the Night. Saw one Fin Back this Day water green
and a few of the Feathered Tribe.

So ends.

Latitude Obs. 28" 45 South. Longitude per watch 176" 43. west.

Friday, Sept. 27th, 1839.

First part fresh breezes from S. S. W. and clear
Steering by the wind to the S. & E.

Middle & Latter Hours Cloudy the wind veering
to SE. Saw nothing this Day water Blue and at
times Green and barren.

So ends carrying sail through the Night the E. N. E.

Latitude Obs. 28" 51 South. Longitude per watch 174" 47. west.

Saturday Sept. 28th, 1839.

First part light breezes from SE. Steering by the wind
to the N. & E. at 4 A. M. the wind hauled to the
Eastward tacked Ship to the Southward.

Latter Hours light airs and pleasant carrying
Sail throught the Night to the South.

Saw nothing this Day. water green no whales.

So ends.

Latitude Obs. 29" 08 South. Longitude per watch 173" 04. west.

Sunday, Sept. 29th, 1839.

First part light breezes from the SE from that to
East Steering by the wind to the Southward.

Middle & Latter Hours the wind veered to the
North and Cloudy Steered SE. at 5 A. M. spoke
Barque Concordia of Sag Harbor Woodard master
500 blls Saw 2 Ships to the NW. steering to the SE.
Saw several Fin Backs but no Right whales water green

So ends

Latitude by acc. 31" 10 South. Longitude per watch 172" 40. west.
