and clear lying too heading to the South untill
6 P. M wore Ship to the North Spoke Ship
Science of Portland 4 whales and Boiling.
this Day stowed 215 blls. of Oil in the Fore Hatch
Larboard Side aft which fills it out to the Hatch
Saw no whales this Day water Blue.

So ends. Boiling.

Latitude Obs. 34" 45 South. Longitude per watch 171" 54 w

Thursday, Oct. 24th, 1839.

All of these 24 Hours strong gales from the west
and squally lying too heading to the North
at 8 A. M. finished Boiling.

Saw nothing this Day So ends.

Latitude Obs. 34" 26 South. Longitude per watch 171" 37 west

Friday, Oct. 25th, 1839.

All of these 24 Hours fresh gales from the
west with a large Swell at Daylight made
Sail Steering by the wind to the North untill
9 A. M. tacked ship to the S. & w at 2 P. M. spoke
Ship Bombay of London 1600 blls. Saw 3 sail to
the North. this Day stowed down 100 blls of Oil in
the main Hatch Starboard Side Foward.

Saw no whales this Day water Blue.

So ends carrying Sail through the Night endeavouring
to get to the west.

Latitude Obs. 33" 56 South. Longitude per watch 171" 53 w

Saturday, Oct. 26th, 1839.

All of these 24 Hours fresh gales from the W. N. W
Steering by the wind to the S. & W Saw no whales
and but 2 Ships and they steering to the S. & W.
this Day cleaned 8 Heads of Bone

So ends carrying Sail through the Night.
