All of these 24 Hours pleasant breezes from
the North and fair weather Steering by the
wind to the west untill 1 P. M Steered
South at 6 P. M. passed a dead whale but
to far gone to make Oil at 8 Do. took in
Sail and hauled by the wind to the west.

Saw not a spout this Day.

So ends Boiling.

Latitude Obs. 36" 56 South. Longitude per watch 172" 29.

Friday, Nov 15th, 1839.

First part of these 24 Hours moderate breezes from
the North and Foggy made Sail steering
by the wind to the west untill 8 A. M. Steered
off S. by W. at 10 Do. passed the dead whale we
Saw the Day before at 11 Do. hauled too by the
wind to the west. Middle & Latter clear the
wind veering to the west tacked Ship to
the North. at 8 A. M. finished Boiling.

Saw not a spout this Day water green.

Latitude by acc. 37" 25 South. Longitude per watch 172" 22.

Saturday, Nov 16th 1839.

All of these 24 Hours pleasant breezes from the NW
and fair weather Steering by the wind to the N. & E.
untill 7 P. M. spoke Ship Superier of New London
Mclain master 2000 blls. Ship An Maria of Do. 8 whales
both Ships from the N. & W and no whales Steered
off E. S. E. in company with them Saw not a Spout this
Day but stowed down 67 blls in the Fore Peak
Starboard Side. at 7 took in Sail and steered
off E. S. E. So ends.

Latitude Obs. 36" 42 South. Longitude per watch 171" 17 west.
