made Sail and wore Ship Steering by the wind
to the Eastward. Middle & Latter Hours more moder
ate and Foggy at 7 P. M. took in Sail heading East
Saw nothing this Day water Blue.

So ends.

Latitude Obs. 43" 50 South. Longitude per watch 179" 47 East.

Sunday, Dec. 1th, 1839.

All of these 24 Hours light airs from the North & East
first part Foggy made Sail Steering by the wind
to the S. & E. Middle & Latter Hours Smoaky
carried sail through the Night to the S. & E.

Saw 1 Fin Back water Blue.

So ends.

Monday, Dec. 2th 1839.

First part light airs from the North and Foggy steering
by the wind to the Eastward.

Middle & Latter Hours light and smoaky Saw several
Fin Backs water Blue. hands employed in breaking
out and setting up Shooks for water

at 8 P. M. spoke Ship Erie of New Port Dennis master
3 whales this Season. at 9 Do. tacked Ship to the N. & W.
carrying Sail through the Night.

So ends.
