whales lowered Struck and killed 2 took them
alongside and cut them in.

Latter Hours strong breezes from the North attended
with light Rain Ship going W by S.

So ends.

Tuesday, Jan. 7th, 1840

First part fresh gales from the North and Squally
Steering W. by S at 8 A. M. the wind hauled Suddenly
to the west. Middle more moderate and Calm.
Latter Hours light airs from the SE. Steering west.
Hands employed in cutting up the whales Heads.

So ends Boiling. Ship Hourly Leak 1000 Str.
