All of these Days fair weather haveing from
28 to 30 Hands employed in Pumping in Salt
water takeing in fresh and stowing sending
aloft Top gallant masts with lower Top
Sail & Top gallant yards, likewise bending
there Sails taking on board the Chain
Cables with a few Old Casks.

Saturday 14th John Dutcher and Ben Watson
deserted.

So ends.

Monday March 16th, 1840

All of these 24 Hours pleasant breezes from the NW
and fair weather took on board the remainder
of the loose articles took our Spre Spars and
made Sail at 5 PM came too in Sidney Cove
in 7 Fathom water

So ends.

Tuesday, March 17th, 1840

First part light airs latter part strong breezes
let go the second anchor employed a mason
to build our Try works anew and a person
ashore to Ship Hands which we find to
be very Sc
