the Ship ready for Sea but waiting for Hands
So ends.
Sunday March 22th 1840
First part clear middle & Latter Hours light Rain
Ship waiting for hands as is several other vessels
now in Port. So ends.
Monday March 23dth 1840
First part Cloudy Middle & Latter Hours Clear
waiting for Hands. So ends
Tuesday March 24th 1840
First part Cloudy. Middle & Latter Hours clear
waiting for hands only.
So ends.
Wednesday March 25th 1840
All of these 24 Hours light airs and pleasant
waiting for men only.
So ends
Thursday March 26th, 1840.
All of these 24 Hours pleasant breezes and fair
weather. at 10 A. M. the Police men took out 4 Prisoners
that were Secreted in the Hole.
So ends wanting hands.
Friday March 27th 1840
All of these 24 Hours pleasant at 2 P. M. took
all of the crew on board and cleared
the Ship. So ends
Saturday, March 28th, 1840.
First part light airs from the SW at 5 A. M.
took a Pilot and got under weigh for Sea
at 7 Do. was off the Heads when the Pilot left
us middle Hours Calm got 3 Boats ahead for towing
Latter Hours light airs from the S S. E heading
to the S. & W. at 8 P. M. the light bore NW 8 miles
Dist at 9 Do stowed the anchors unbent the Cables
and Coiled them below. So ends
