middle & Latter Hours clear at 1 A. M. Sidney
Light House bore W. by S. 20 miles Dist.

Latitude Obs. 34" 10. South. Longitude by Chronometer 157" 36 East

Monday March 30th 1840.

All of these 24 Hours light airs from the ESE and
Squally Steering by the wind to the Eastward

Hands employed in various jobs of Ships duty

So ends.

Latitude Obs. 33" 50. South. Longitude by acc. 152" 15 Eas

Tuesday March 31th, 1840.

First & Middle part calm Latter Hours light airs
from the SE. Steering by the wind to the Eastward
Saw a Brig Steering to the S. & W

So ends.

Latitude Obs. 33" 36. South. Longitude by acc. 153" 13 East.

Wednesday April 1th, 1840.

All of these 24 Hours moderate breezes from the
E. S. E and fair weather by the wind to the N. & E.
at 10 A. M. Saw a Sail to the SW steering to the
N. & E. at 11 Do. Saw a whale Spout twice but saw
him no more. So ends with a strong Southerly current.

Latitude Obs. 33" 55. South. Longitude per watch 155" 30 East.

Thursday April 2th 1840

First part fresh breezes from the Eastward and
cloudy with light Rain steering by the wind to
the N. & E.

Middle & Latter Hours the wind veered to the
E. N. E. Tacked Ship to the S. & E.

hands employed in various jobs of Ships Duty

So ends
