Saturday June 6th, 1840.

First part Calm Middle Hours fresh breezes from the SE.
Steered NE untill 4 P. M. Steered N. by W.

Latter Hours fresh gales from the South.

Sunday, June 7th, 1840.

First part fresh gales from the South steering N. by W.
Middle & Latter Hours more moderate steered

Monday June 8th, 1840.

All of these 24 Hours fresh breezes from the South
and fair weather steering N. N. W. at 7 A. m. unbent
the main Top Sail hands employed in repairing
it at 2 P. M. Saw large quantities of red whale
Feed but no whales. So ends.

First part light airs from the North steering by
the wind to the west untill 1 P. M. the wind veered
to the west tacked to the North.
