3 TB rice (or farina)
3 TB butter
2 TB flour
⅛ t pepper
1 TB salt

Boil rice and vegetables
until tender. As water boils
away, add more water. Add
tomatoes and seasoning. Rub
butter and flour together until a
smooth paste is formed. Add
a little soup. Then add mixture
to all of soup.

Chocolate Cornstarch Pudding

3 TB cocoa
3 TB cornstarch
3 TB sugar
1 pt milk
¼ T vanilla

Mix all dry ingredients. Add milk. Cook until it thickens. Cook over hot water 15 min. Add flavoring. Cool. Serve with milk, cream or soft custard sauce.
