Cousin Edith:

I suppose you think
an answer to your letter of June
22nd very slow coming. Well, it is
rather. I, like the rest of mankind,
procrastinate and put off free
day today what might. perhaps
as well, be down at once.

Well, Laura and I were glad to
hear from you and to know that
you were well and that your
thoughts meandered East, somewhat,
and that you did think
some little of those you left.
Me began to think, perhaps, you
had forgotten them and had
taken up new and better friends.
