Carus or profound Sleep as a Disease
This is a profound Sleep out of which the patient cannot be waked
by Clamours, Shaking or even with the pricking of a Needle.
Rx. Asarabacca Majorem. Syrian Mastic, Thyme, Dried Lavender
Flowers aa Rubb these together 'till they are Reduced into a very
fine Powder for Snuff This good in all Sleepy Diseases and especially
for the Disease above Mentioned 'Tis called Pulv. Sternutatorious
Errhines, Sneezing Powder, Sinapisms, Blisters on the Feet and Neck
Cupping either with or without Scarrification, Strong Frictions
on the lower Parts, Stimulating Glysters with the Addition
of Sal. Gem, Sal. Marine, or the Root of Squills.
