29 Thurs - S. Peter
Did not go to school as it was
half day in any case. Helped Mummy in
morning and picked some raspberries.
Did some revision in afternoon. Phil came in
evening and we picked strawberries.

30 Fri
Did not go to school. Lovely day
Helped Mummy in morning and cleaned
my bedroom. Colin & Gilbert are back from
early leave and helped them pick some strawberries.
Did revision rest of afternoon and evening.

1 July Sat - s.r. 3.47, s.s. 8.20
Very miserable showery
day. Picked strawberries all the morning
in the mud. Picked some rasps in afternoon
Muriel came for tea. Played about in evening.
It poured with rain. Had a bath.

On vacant ground from which crops of Broad Beans
or early Peas have been cleared make another sowing of
Round Beetroot and Carrots for storing. Plant out
Cauliflowers for late summer use, Cabbages for autumn
and winter, and Brussels Sprouts for latest supplies.
Plant Leeks for winter use.

Layer Strawberries as soon as layers are available.

Cold Districts. - Plant all kinds of Broccoli, including
sprouting.
