AUGUST 1944

13 Sun - 10th after Trinity
Lovely day. Went to
S. School in morning and taught primary.
Sat on lawn and read in afternoon.
We all went to Chapel in evening with
Taffy & Bill. They stayed to supper.
Denys popped in in evening.

14 Mon - Atlantic Charter announced, 1941
Lovely day.
Picked plums all the morning and
again in the afternoon with some
airmen. Did some sewing and darning
in evening. Bill and Denys came in in
evening.

15 Tues
Lovely day. Bill went on 9 days
leave. Picked plums (Vics) all the
morning. Did the ironing in the
afternoon, and sewed all the evening.
Taffy & Denys came in evening. Leslie
came back from leave.

16 Wed - Lammas Fire Insurance ceases
Lovely day.
Mummy went to Ely in the morning. Janet
and I did all the work. I made 2 apple
pies. Read in afternoon and wrote to
Sheila in evening. Denys came in
for an hour or so.
