SEPTEMBER 1944

Mummies Birthday
3 Sun - 13th after Trinity
War with Germany began, 1939

Windy cold day.
Went to sunday school in morning and
taught primary. Wrote letters in afternoon.
Did not go to chapel in evening as had to rest
foot which was very swollen with sting. Finished
letters in evening. Gerald came in and wrote letters

4 Mon
Cold wet windy day. Helped Mummy
all the morning. We cleaned the dining
room and polished the floor. Got changed in
afternoon and prepared salads for supper after tea.
Had a lovely supper party. Bill Gerald Denys Ted
and Taffy came. We played games & did not go to
bed until 1 o'clock.

5 Tues
Very rough day. Helped Mummy
with the work and washing in morning.
Got changed in afternoon and went to
Sutton and did the errands. Read & played
patience in evening. Bill came in in the
evening
Went to bed early.

Had a long letter from Betty
6 Wed
Quite a nice day. Helped Mummy
all the morning. Did some of the
ironing. Mummy & Janet cleaned the scullery.
Finished ironing & had a bath in afternoon.
Went for a long walk in evening with Janet
Elsie & Kim. Betty Elsie & Taffy came for
supper.
