Our host said they had been away from
home for three weeks with their dear
friend Prof. Iddings, & things had suffered
in their absence, but a look into the
garden showed they had had an abundance
of everything, & the fall & winter vegetables
were in evidence.

The large beautiful lawn looked as if it
had been raked with a rake, & swept
with a broom, from one end to the other,
& the porch was laden with the fine
specimens, large & small.

After a very pleasant meeting we separated
for the winter with happy memories
of our first meeting at Harwood.
