Anna Nesbitt & Richard Iddings were appointed
readers for the July meeting.
The place of adjournment was left in
the hands of the committee on arrangements.
Our walk around the grounds & into the
two or three gardens showed us lots of
things worth seeing.

The magnificent rose bush, Van Fleet,
attracted the eyes of all upon entering
the garden on the east side of the house -
it was a lovely sight. The long rows
of lima beans showed that every beau had
come up. Miss Mary told us she suspected
to leave two beau vines to every other pole,
& it looks as if the [?] knew just
what was the right thing to do.

Every thing looked well, except the peas
in one garden, they have a blight, which
the grower says has attacked them before
in that same place.

The blackberry vines were [laden?], something
good will come from them, but let us
not entertain the idea of wine or
cordials!
