Tuesday the 23rd Sept 1856 Commenced sowing wheat in the cherry orchard today we are sowing white wheat had a shower of rain today that kept us brown more the day cool.
Wednesday 24th Sept 1856, sowed wheat today we had frost this morning for the first time this fall not enough to kill vegetation then at 38 deg finished sowing the Cherry orchard in wheat today
Thursday the 25 Sept 1856 another frost this morning the and all tender vegetation considerably
Wednesday 1 Oct 1856 Killing frost tui morning killed vines before we had time to cut them great loss Rained a good reason yesterday not sowed wheat yet [W?????] our
Saturday the 4th Octr 1856 sowing white wheat for the last two days in the Barn field
Monday the 6 Octr 1856 sowed wheat & cleaned wheat sold 200 Bu wheat today to the [Ac????????] of Lexington for $1 Bu at the Barn
Saturday the 11th October 1856 Finished sowing wheat except a lot of 5 acres north of the [C????] crib that was in corn [g?????]. very dry so we cannot need rain to make our wheat [c????] commenced gathering corn & halling the stalks we cut stacked we have sowed all the barn field in wheat & the cherry orchard 70 acres in all we sowed 50 Bu white wheat & 20 1/2 Bu of blue stem both kinds smoothe headed wheat
