flying. Dave said that once
he thought that they were
surely going to hit a stone
house. — I got excused from
drill, and permission to go
down town with Dave.
Just before we left Monahn
crashed on the field while
landing. He was thrown
clear of the wreckage, and
was mighty lucky that
he wasn't killed. He got
a broken ankle, leg in
two places, collar bone,
jaw, and a dislocated
sholder, and that's all.
