was caught in the selle with the
engine on top of him. We pulled
Grub out all whole, but how
he escaped "getting it" is more
than I can see. The prop missed
him head by not more than an
inch, and the other blade of the
prop was broken off or he would
have gotten that square
across the back. Right after
Grubs accident Larrie Higgins
chevalled on the take off of his
first solo hop, and got rattled
and opened his engine instead
of shutting it off and smashed
his landing gear and turned
turtle in the only space there
was between two machines.
