Dear afflicted sister
as i glanced over the moring [sic] paper
i see where you are left alone
your poor heart allmost [sic] broken
& i felt it a duty two [sic] offer
you my hearts felt sympathy in
your berevement [sic] execpt [sic] dear
my sympathy although a stranger
my heart went out two [sic] you in
your tryals [sic] & when i laid my
dear beloved daughter two [sic] rest
i had so many letters of sympathy
