Though grief may walk beside them
As clouds that hide the sun

Each thought of him is fairer
Than jewels in the mine,
And fadeless is the record
That ever shall be thine.

Aye fadeless as his spirit
That walks Heaven's street to day,
And moves with bliss triumphant,
Along his chosen way,

Looks with an angel's pity,
On Life's sad prisoners,
Smiles through the wondrous portals,
Beyond the watching stars
