Started school. Had a hours
drill and games from
eight until nine. At our
classes I tried to remember
so much that my head felt
that it would split. -- We
have three days on the Lewis
gun then exes. It seems
as if it would take me a
year to learn all that we
will have to learn int the
next two days. Went over
and worked on the gun a
little this evening.

Tuesday Apr. 30.
Had muster roll and
signed the pay roll this noon.
Was sick during the night.
Went on sick report this
morning. Went to school
