Alban G. Thomas, the second reader
appointed sent word he would contribute
another time. Volunteer articles
were then called for and Eliza N.
Moore interested us in an account of
the success obtained in taking pictures
of plant life and growth with a camera.
The pictures are taken in such
quick succession that they are very
numerous, and afterwards when presented
to spectators the changes are
automatic so that without any apparent
motion one sees the gradual
unfolding and continuous growth of a
plant from the time it peeps above the earth.

Henry C. Hallowell brought a picturesque
description of the wild vegetation
of Texas which described some rare
specimens of sensitive plants bearing
flowers in a variety of colors and a
pleasant delicate odor.

The "Forethought" report came next in
order, and, as is always the case, gave
valuable suggestions to some and reminders
to others. Usually, the poultry
report is discontinued in June but
circumstances made it desirable to take
