60. SEED CATALOGUE AND GARDEN GUIDE.

FLOWER BULBS.
Many of the most showy, attractive, inexpensive and easiest grown of all summer and autumn flowers are contained in this important class. There are scarcely any other flowers that can compare with the noble and brilliant spikes of the gladiolus, the grace and elegance of the lily, the purity and sweetness of the tuberose, the majestic foliage of the caladium, and the wonderful markings of the tigridia. Bulbs for spring planting require scarcely any care, and quickly make a gorgeous display, while the bulbs can be kept over winter, and will year after year continue to return a hundredfold in beauty and satisfaction the trifling expense of the original cost.
In the following list we have selected the varieties which we believe will give our customers the best satisfaction. The bulbs are large and strong, and will be sent well packed, postpaid on receipt of price, except where noted. Our bulbs are extra nice this year and prices are low. We trust all who have a flower garden will include some of these bulbs in their order.

We claim to be the largest growers of bulbs in the west and we have as choice an assortment as can be found anywhere.
DISCOUNTS.--Your selection of bulbs to the amount of $1.20 at catalogue prices will be sent postpaid for $1.00. $2.50 for $2.00.

BLACKBERRY LILY.--(Pardanthus.)--A flag-like lily blooming in July and August, is quite curious and handsome. Flowers orange color spotted with brown, about two inches in diameter. The blossoms are followed by seed clusters exactly like a blackberry in size, shape and color. If plucked when they turn black, they retain their glossy color and appearance all winter, and are very nice for winter bouquets. Each 15c, 3 for 35c.
TUBEROUS ROOTED BEGONIAS.--Of all the introductions of recent years, none have received a heartier welcome than the giant-flowered, tuberous-rooted begonias, which have been brought to wonderful perfection. These flowers sometimes grow six inches in diameter are borne upright on stiff stems, and outrival in colors the most brilliant or dazzling geranium. We have had many of these flowers grown in an ordinary way that measured four and one-half inches in diameter. They are of the richest colors, embracing every shade of white, rose, pink, red, scarlet, crimson, maroon, lake, yellow and orange, and combine the richest shades. Tuberous begonias are well adapted to house culture, and make splendid beds on the lawn. The bulbs can be taken up and kept in a dry warm place through the winter as easily as a potato.
Extra Choice Single Varieties Mixed.--Grand assortment. Each 15c, doz. $1.50.
Extra Choice Double Varieties Mixed.--All the best sorts. Each 25c, doz. $2.50.

CRINUM KIRKI.--This magnificent bulb, frequently as large as a child's head, produces flowers of the greatest beauty. Its leaves are wavy edged and radiate in the form of a rosette. Usually two flower stalks, each two or more feet tall, and of dark purplish color, are sent up at the same time, each bearing a large umbel, consisting of a dozen or more large lily-like flowers of the greatest beauty and fragrance. The petals are broad and pure white, with a deep reddish purple stripe down the center of the outside of each, showing through faintly on the inside. A plant which will create a sensation anywhere when in bloom. Fine, extra large bulbs (such as have sometimes been sold at from $3.00 to $5.00 each) each $1.00, 3 for $2.50, postpaid; smaller bulbs 75c, each.
CHINESE SACRED LILY.--Very handsome. The flower is white, with a yellow tinted cup; a truss from three to seven, borne on a stem--sometimes single and double on the same stalk. It is very easily grown in water. The bulbs are very large, with from three to six various-sized offsets, and nearly every offset bears a flower stalk. Usually grown in a bowl of water. We can furnish them until the last of March, when the supply is usually exhausted, and we do not have more until fall. Each 20c.

CINNAMON VINE.--This beautiful climber possesses the rare quality of emitting from its flowers the delightful odor of cinnamon, and is very appropriately called the Cinnamon Vine. Perfectly hardy, the stem dying down every autumn, but growing again so rapidly as to completely cover any trellis or arbor very early in the season. It is propagated from small bulblets, which will make from ten to twenty feet of vine, and with its beautiful heart-shaped leaves, bright green, peculiar foliage and clusters of delicate white flowers sending forth a delicious cinnamon odor, render it one of the most desirable climbers in cultivation. We can furnish the large tubers by mail, postpaid, for 10c, 3 for 25c; bulblets, 4 for 10c, doz. 25c.

The bulbs received in last order from you are very fine. Accept thanks.

CANNA.--These very handsome tropical-looking plants are unrivaled for fine effects on the lawn, their large glossy, green leaves, tinted with red, purple or bronze, and their showy spikes of flowers of various shades of red and yellow, produce an effect seldom equaled.
Madam Crozy.--One of the grandest of all sorts. The immense flower head, of the deepest vermillion red, gold bordered, is double the diameter of a gladiolus spike, closely filled with flowers, and these flower spikes or heads follow each other so rapidly that the plant is always in bloom. Spikes contain 12 to 25 flowers in full bloom at one time, 3 to 6 spikes in bloom at one time. Each 40c, 3 for $1.00.
Mixed French.--We have a grand assortment of all the best new varieties of French or Crozy cannas, which we can furnish at 30c each, or 4 for $1.00, postpaid.

Mixed Green Leaved.--Like above only leaves are green. Each 10c, doz. $1.10.
