Jefferson agreeably to the United States census there were in this town in 1840, 18 horses, 229 meat cattle, and 445 swine; and during the year 1839 there were raised 1182 bushels of wheat, 165 of barley, 915 of oats, 2297 of Indian corn and 2462 of potatoes, 2400 pounds of maple sugar was made and the value of dairy produce was estimated at $952.

In 1843 the N 1/2 T.6 &2 south [illegible] of Sectors in T7 in R 15 & 16 was attached to and made part of the town of Jefferson.
