Wisconsin[opalis?] or Ida, a town laid out in Portage county at "Stone quarry hill" (which see) two and a half miles from Fort Winnebago and two and a fourth miles from the Wisconsin river. It is seventeen miles from Lake Puckawa, and forty seven miles from Fond du Lac.

Wisauwa Lake, Gold Lake, a small lake on the line between Milwaukee and Jefferson counties; it is about one and a half miles long, lying one and a half miles east of Cranberry lake; and it discharges its waters into Bark river.

Wolf River (Pawaugara) a large and important branch of the Neenah from the north entering three miles above the Great Bute des Morts Lake. It is larger than the Neenah at the confluence, and immediately above it expands, into a lake (see Pawaugan Lake)
