1862 The Flag 25th Apl 1862
To day, the American Flag - the Stars and Stripes -- the proud emblem of a Nations greatness - the Flag which our fathers won through blood and death - the Flag which our fathers loved - the Flag which all nations honour - the Flag under which we were born and lived all our lives (save the last year) now floats proudly over us.
Long may it wave over the land of the free and the home of the brave. - May it wave over us, our Children, our grand children, and our greate grand children, till grabriels trump shall sound, and old time shall end - then good bye old time-honored flag, Heaven is a better place than America.
The above is taken from the Louisville Jornal Apl 1862
