July 10 renewed the Telegraph despatch to Thomas and wrote a letter to G W Gordon

July 11 Recd answer from Thomas to my Teligraph dispatch in these word “ I have been unwell not enough to create any alarm what ever “ T L Porter

12th I wrote a letter to Thomas

12 Mary ann came to Town to day on her way to Sandusky to see Thomas but after seeing his dispatch went home again

12 I recd a letter from Thomas dated the 5 July he said nothing abot being sick tho he writes like he was not well

1862 July 14 Mon) Fighting at Murphis borough Sunday 13th divers of reports. Kentuckens badly cut up & three Regt. prisoners

July Mon 14 No Mails from Nashville nor any where else to day

1862 Tu 15 The cannons are heard in the East from morning until evening Some think at Shelbyville & some at Murfersborough (No News) The rail Rode track is cut up, & the wires between Columbia & Pulaskie Genl Nelson is expect but the track being torn
